From property and conveyancing to collaborative family law, estate planning and litigation, full-spectrum counsel delivered with care.
"Property is rarely just property. It is the asset, the home, the legacy."
Property & Conveyancing is the heart of Nyama Law Chambers' practice. Whether you are buying your first home, expanding a commercial portfolio, restructuring family land or registering a bond, every step is handled with rigour and clarity.
Every transfer follows a clear, transparent six-step process. You will know what is happening at each stage.
You instruct us. We review the offer to purchase or sale agreement and explain your obligations clearly before signature.
We confirm clear title, check for outstanding rates and bond cancellations, and obtain rates clearance from the local authority.
If finance is involved, we coordinate with your bank's bond attorney so transfer and bond can lodge together.
Documents are signed; purchase price is held in our trust account; stamp duty is calculated and paid to ZIMRA.
The signed documents are lodged at the Deeds Registry. We track the file daily.
Once registered, you receive your title deed. Keys, statements and full file delivered to you.
"We litigate when we must. We resolve when we can."
The breakdown of a relationship is often one of the most difficult periods in a person's life, emotionally, financially, and legally. We bring a different philosophy to it. We are litigators, fully capable of fierce courtroom representation, but our default is collaborative.
Collaborative law is a process in which specially-trained family lawyers help couples and families manage separation in a dignified way, without the intervention or threat of court proceedings unless absolutely necessary. The aim is settlement that works for you, your family, and your children.
Collaboration is our default, but it requires both parties to come to the table in good faith. We will recommend formal litigation where there is domestic violence, financial concealment, refusal to negotiate, or urgent need for court protection.
"A few hours of planning prevents years of family conflict."
A valid will is the single most important legal document many Zimbabweans never create. Our Wills & Estate Department helps clients prepare for the future and protects their families from the painful disputes that arise when no instructions exist.
"Vigorous representation, but never reckless escalation."
Commercial disputes, contractual claims, debt recovery, personal injury, defamation, and property disputes, taken from initial demand letter through to enforcement of judgment.
Defending clients facing criminal charges in the Magistrates Court, High Court, and on appeal. Bail applications, plea negotiations, trial advocacy, and sentence appeals.
Where appropriate, we resolve matters through mediation or arbitration rather than full litigation, saving time, cost, and (often) relationships.
"The law protects workers, provided they know it."
We represent both employees and employers in employment matters across Zimbabwe, drafting contracts and policies, conducting disciplinary hearings, defending unfair dismissal claims, and appearing in the Labour Court.
"A business built on strong contracts rarely needs strong litigation."
From company formation through to commercial transactions, we provide ongoing advisory and bespoke document drafting for Zimbabwean businesses of every scale.
"The paperwork that opens doors."
The administrative-but-essential legal services that businesses and individuals need to operate, expand, and protect what they have built.
"Equal protection under the law, for those who most need it."
Our Child Rights & Social Justice Department exists because the formal legal system has historically struggled to serve those who most need its protection. We have dedicated child rights consultants and pursue matters that other firms might decline.
"Different departments. Same philosophy: the law belongs to the people."
